Our Nativity presentation took place on Sunday, December 15 after the 9am Mass at St. Anne's Parish Church.

This song is based on the poem written by Kent Keith titled "The Paradoxical Commandments". It was a favorite poem of Mother Teresa. She had a version of it hanging on the wall at her home for children in Calcutta.

I made this video to show the students that they can learn about their religion in other ways, like from music or comedy.

I hope the students get as much out of this video as I did making it. I put a couple of different videos together along with some still photos of Nick Vujicic to make the video. It is Nick singing the song. I would suggest to everyone look up Nick Vujicic on youtube and watch his videos. His story is so inspirational.

"The Lord's Prayer" is a rock setting of the Lord's Prayer with music by Arnold Strals recorded in 1973 by nun Sister Janet Mead. Mead was known for pioneering the use of contemporary rock music in celebrating the Roman Catholic Mass. The recording was an international smash, selling nearly three million copies worldwide. The single entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart on 23 February 1974, charted for thirteen weeks and reached a peak of number four during Holy Week in April. It became the only song to hit the Top 10, whose entire lyrical content originated from the words of the bible. Mead was nominated for a Grammy for Best Inspirational Performance. She donated all of her royalties from the recording's massive international sales to charity.

This is a wonderful song by Carrie Underwood. I added at the beginning an interview with her explaining the song.

This is truly one of my favorite songs of all time and I wanted to share it with our students. Everyone has their on idea of what heaven may be like, but the things we do know is that we will be reunited with our loved ones and feel pure joy.

To me this song has many different points it tries to get across. First, even though we aren't perfect God still loves us and is there for us. Second, just because you feel like you don't know enough about God, you can still have faith and believe in him. Third, it is human to have questions about things we don't understand, this doesn't mean we still can't have faith.

This is a great Christmas story by Grandpa Jones.

A great video that compares a rain storm with life and how God is there to watch over you just as a father watches over his son.

A very upbeat song about how Jesus is always reaching out to us.

A wonderful song that the youth listened to (and danced to, I hear) at the recent NET retreat

This is a great video of John Paul II's speech for 1995 put to the song Dynamite.

An upbeat song about the virgin Mary

A very moving song about when you are down, let Jesus lead your life and things will be ok.

This is a great song about God's love for us. I keep trying to find songs by mainstream artists to show the students that it's ok to show the world that you are a christian. If these artists can record songs about their faith and show it to the world, we can do the same.

A song right out of our church's hymn book, but with a little extra!

Pictures found on Google. Song by the Irish Rovers. This song is in our hymn books.

This is the music video for True Colors by Artists Against Bullying. I have modified the video by adding some of their PSA and also added photos of YDG leaders holding our comments or statements

This is the story of John Newton and the song he wrote, Amazing Grace

I found it on youtube and wanted to show it to our YDG group.

Taylor Swift sings her song Christmas Must Be Something More. My daughter Marya searched and found the photos in the video online and put them together for me. The song is about how we can't forget the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

I take no credit for the audio or graphics in this video. I found it on Youtube and wanted to share it with our YDG students.

I did not make this video but found it on Youtube, wanted to share it with our YDG students and parents.

The first video I showed YDG for the 2012-2013 year. I didn't make the video but did add the lyrics at the bottom for the students to follow along. Wanted to show that a rock band took words from Sunday Mass and made it into a number 1 hit.

I did not make this video but did add the lyrics at the bottom so YDG students could follow along. A song about how Jesus is with us, even in our darkest hour.

Outrageous Love by Krissy Nordhoff. I did not make this video, I found it on Youtube. Shared it with YDG. A wonderful song about Jesus' love for us.

A fun but deep meaning song by Canadian country group High Valley. Again I wanted to show YDG that a contemporary group can sing about religious issues. This song is very straight and to the point. We can't just praise Jesus when it suits us. Being a Christian is a 24/7 gig.

Music video by Justin Bieber. Shared with YDG to show an international superstar isn't afraid to show his faith.

Music by Sarah McLachlan. One of my favorite prayers put to music. Again showing a main stream artist can take time and record a song about prayer.

Music video by Big and Rich. Shared it with our YDG to show current hit makers can sing about prayer and make a hit song out of it. I added the lyrics to the bottom so the students could follow along.

Another video I found on Youtube I wanted to share with our YDG.

I found this video on Youtube. Wanted to show our YDG group that contemporary artists can take scriptures and make hit songs out of them.

Another video I did for the YDG using the song written and performed by Stompin Tom Connors. All the photos were found on Google images and I don't take credit for creating any of them.

This is a song by Rascall Flatts. It's a very moving song that show it's never too late for forgiveness.

A song by Newsboys, a Christian Rock band. The name is pretty straight forward, God Is Not Dead!!

By DC Talk. This is a remake of an old The Byrds song. They made subtle changes to the lyrics, changing "Jesus is just alright" to "Jesus is still alright".

By Newsong. The song is based on an email chain letter passed around in the 90's called "The Golden Slippers." In 2002 Donna VanLiere wrote a novel based on the song which was turned into a movie later that year.

A video we made to show the thoughts of teachers and students on bullying. Please watch the full video as the students thoughts and comments are at the end.
